Why do I cough after I take tums...if indeed it is acid reflux?


I'm trying to figure out if I really have asthma or acid reflux or COPD or something else.

There are more than just the few diseases you named that could cause your problems, you need to go to the doctor. I'm a nurse and I could give you ideas of ways to make you feel better. Most importantly though, you just need to know exactly what it is before making yourself a lab rat. Don't take risks with Yahoo answers go see a licensed physician, so you don't take the risk of harming yourself.
once again, you need a professional to determine the health of the respiratory system. How would you know who to believe here? There should be a law against asking for medical advice on this site. Listen to no one except the Dr..
Did you undergo any test? You should consult your doctor and tell whats the problem so that they know what test is suit for you. Take only medicine with prescription by the doctor because some medicine can be worsen your problem.
has any tests been done by your doctor to determine the cause of your coughing when you swallow ? it sounds like you have a swallowing problem that needs to be checked out ok
go see an ENT throat doctor, you may need your throat stretched.
