so which one is connected to the internet? you shouldn't use 2 routers. if you want to extend the range you a repeater or range extender. Is your pc and xbox upstairs wireless?
i would use the wifi router instead on the downstairs pc then connect the pc and xbox via wirelessHome networking problem, expert advice needed?
Hi, I suggest you to use only the D-LINK dsl, But this depends on it if its can handle Cables and Wireless also it can cover all the house very well.
good luck...
You can't use 2 routers on the same connection, they give conflicting information. what you need to go with the bt router is a wireless access point, but you need to connect a port from the bt router to the access point. This should not be too much of a problem as you do not need the wireless to be all that close to the wireless machine. Alternatively replace the BT router with your wireless one downstairs, if you position it carefully as high as possible and clear of obstructions it should normally give you plenty of range. The wired machine can connect to one of it's lan ports, and you can use the wireless.
