Do you know what wakes you? Does a neighbour go to work at this time of day? If you have a window open try closing it to keep out early noises. Are you needing a bathroom stop - try not to drink anything even water after say 7 p.m if bedtime is 10.30.
Are you worried about school - if yes - then this would be disturbing your thoughts and waking you. Try to talk it out with someone close.
Are you waking up cold - more bed cover to keep you warm when your body may be at it coldest.
Some people only need 6 good hours sleep so if you are in bed by 11p.m. then you would naturally wake by 5.00.
There are many reasons so I hope the above has touched on one or two of them which may point you in the right direction to sort out your sleep requirements.
Antihistamines can make you drowsy so you could use them to help you sleep through but it is not a good idea to get in to a habit of taking tablets.I've a problem with sleeping I need some good solid advice?
hot milk with honey and banana
you may be waking up because you are hungry or need the bathroom
try not to drink anything after say 9 pm
make sure the curtains are dark enough
that you are not too hot or too cold
have supper at 9pm settle down and read for half hour something boring
try and listen to some music on a timer for 1 hour
if you wake up and are wide awake get up and do something
don't nap during the day
take up exercise as this actually helps you to relax
i am an insomniac but all of these methods help
its just a process of elimination until you find what works for you
good luck
hot milk and bananas help for insomnia.
maybe trying reading for 30minutes before you go to bed?
how about playing calming music (natural stress relief)?
maybe you just need a teddy bear or a cushion to hug - it makes you feel more secure and so helps you to sleep easier.
If you get up at 5am,instead of trying to get back to sleep, your body will be dead tired by 11pm and after 2/3 nights you will sleep at 11pm.
