Spectracide bug-stop will murder them and their young (spider mites, mealy bugs, aphids also) and won't hurt your plants. 1/4'; of sand on top of potting soil will prevent young from hatching, adults don't live long. Be watching for spider mites, they usually follow gnats in my house for some reason.

If you think your plants are in danger of dying, take cuttings to root in water or soil - depends on the plant which method they prefer.';Fungus Gnat'; Problem/NEED Someones advice pretty please?
Let your soil dry out between waterings. Then the fungus gnats cant survive. The soil should be dry two or three inches down before watering.
